Former Rangers and Sunderland manager Michael Beale has been appointed as Steven Gerrard’s assistant coach at Saudi Arabian side Al Ettifaq football.
Beal, 44, is reunited with Gerrard, having previously worked. As an assistant to the Liverpool legend at Rangers and Aston Villa UFABET
The pair enjoyed success in Scotland, helping Rangers win their first Premier League title in a decade in the 2020-21 season.
After following Gerrard to Aston Villa in November 2021. Beale left the club to take over as manager at Queens Park Rangers in the summer of 2022.
He took Queens Park to the top of the table in October of that year but. After snubbing the chance to move to Wolves, Beal returned to Rangers as manager in November.
The Englishman was sacked less than 11 months later after losing three of his first seven games of the 2023-24 season.
He later took charge of Sunderland. But Beal only lasted 12 months at the Stadium of Light. The shortest spell in the Black Cats’ history, before being sacked in February 2024.
He reunites with Gerrard in the hope of improving the situation at Al Ettifaq. Who are currently 10th in the Saudi Pro League after losing five of their last six games.
